EYEBROW AFTERCARE

Avoid contact with water, lotion, soap, or makeup on your eyebrow area for the first 7 days after your procedure.

When washing your face, be careful around the eyebrow area to avoid getting water on any treated areas. If showering, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath instead.

It is common to experience itching and flaking in the first week after the procedure. It is important to avoid picking or scratching to prevent early removal of scabs, which can result in uneven healing or scarring. Following these after-care instructions can help alleviate these symptoms.

After 4 days, clean your hands and gently apply post-care ointment with a cotton swab. This should be done twice daily, morning and night, using a small amount of ointment as the skin heals. Continue applying the ointment for 7 days.

The following should be avoided for the entire 14-day post-procedure period.

  • Increased sweating
  • Practicing sports
  • Swimming
  • Options for relaxation include a hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi.
  • Sun tanning or salon tanning are both options for achieving a bronzed glow.
  • UV/UVA rays and chemicals can lead to colour changes and early fading.
  • Please refrain from using laser or chemical treatments, peels, or creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area.
  • Avoid picking, peeling, or scratching the micro-pigmented area to prevent scarring or pigment removal.
  • Tasks involving heavy household cleaning, such as cleaning the garage or basement, may involve exposure to airborne debris.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption can slow down the healing process of wounds.
  • Driving in open-air vehicles, like convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles, can be a fun experience.
  • Avoid touching the eyebrow area, except when rinsing and applying post-care cream with a cotton swab.

Patients should seek medical attention if they experience any symptoms: fever, redness, swelling, tenderness at the procedure site, increased body temperature, red streaks extending from the site toward the heart, and/or any green or yellow foul-smelling discharge.

Information about before and after

The healing process for your cosmetic tattoo typically lasts 4-6 weeks, with the final result depending on your body’s regeneration and age. Your new eyebrows will undergo various phases during the healing cycle.

The pigment may appear unnatural after the procedure and darken the following day.

After recovery, brows may appear lighter than the original due to natural skin regeneration. This can give the impression that the colour is fading quickly. Even with proper care, some areas may fade more than others, leading to uneven brows. This is normal and why most clients require a touchup after 6 weeks.

During the healing process, the skin on your eyebrows may appear flaky or dry, resembling dandruff. This is normal as superficial colour and dry skin are naturally shed. The full results of your eyebrow procedure will be visible after around 30 days.

It is recommended not to rub the treated area, as it may disrupt the skin’s natural healing process.

After fully healing, it is recommended to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when they are exposed to the sun to prevent colour pigment from fading prematurely.

It is recommended to avoid applying foundation over healed eyebrows to prevent them from appearing lighter.

Tattoo Cosmetic

You can now enjoy your new eyebrows. You may find your updated appearance pleasing.

This is an example of what the healing process may entail

Client’s eyebrows before the procedure

Following a brow treatment, redness and tenderness may occur, and brows may appear bold or uneven. It is important to keep the area clean and dry and avoid touching the eyebrows.

DAY 3, scabs may start to form on your brows. Remember to keep them dry and clean.

DAY 4, the scab on your eyebrows may feel tight or itchy. Apply a small amount of aftercare ointment (Aquaphor) on each eyebrow using a cotton swab. Spread a thin layer of ointment on the treated area every morning and night. Avoid making your brows look greasy or shiny, which can slow the healing process. Do not apply ointment on wet tattoos. Continue applying ointment until your brows stop scabbing.

DAY 7, scabs may start to peel off. It is important to avoid touching or picking at the scabs to prevent patchy results or scarring.

DAY 12, the scabs have finished peeling, and the brows appear lighter following the peeling process. The degree of lightness may differ for each person.

DAY 14, clients can resume their regular skincare routines as brows are no longer at risk of being affected by water. It is normal for brows to appear light initially, but as scabs come off over the next six weeks, the colour will continue to surface, and brows will gradually darken.

DAY 40, the colour of the brows has fully healed, and any redness has disappeared.
